Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm & Saturdays, 1-3pm

Understanding a script is so much more than the characters on the stage. In this class, students will read a pre-selected contemporary play aloud and then analyze each scene to discuss and interpret the playwright’s intentions. Students will then explore how creative decisions - such as acting choices, staging, and design, can serve that interpretation and the overall story.

PERFORMING AT THE TOWER THEATRE

Our second annual musical theater revue will give students the chance to sing, dance and act in a high-energy show to be performed in Bend’s historic Tower Theatre! Students will be featured in large and small group numbers from memorable contemporary and classic musicals. In addition to gaining performance experience, students will get valuable dance and voice training throughout the intensive rehearsal process. If you’re hoping to join a Ponderosa Players MainStage musical, this class is your best first step!

Join this fun and fast-paced intensive where students will bring Charlotte's Web to life in just six exciting sessions! Students will learn and perform an abridged version of E.B. White’s classic story, providing opportunities to deepen their acting skills, character development, and stage presence. Whether you’re a first-time performer or an experienced actor, this class is sure to build your confidence and sharpen your performance abilities!

Step into the magical world of As You Like It, where love, laughter, and mistaken identities abound!  Using the text as our guide, students will put together a condensed version of the play while gaining a deeper appreciation and understanding for Shakespeare's language. A perfect class to strengthen your acting skills and improve your ability to perform classical material with authenticity and humor.

In musical theater, dance is one of the many ways a character can express themselves. In this class, dancers will learn combinations set to classic musical theater songs and explore characterization through movement. Perfect for actors who want to strengthen their dance skills, or dancers who want to enhance their performance skills.

Unleash your creativity in our 8-week improv class! Students will learn how to think on their feet, collaborate, and express themselves boldly in a supportive environment. This class is a great stepping stone for any growing actor looking to improve their confidence, quick thinking, and teamwork skills, all while having a blast on stage.

Sundays, 1-2:30pm

In this three-class workshop, students will gain an introduction to Laban Movement, the Alexander Technique and more. Through these techniques, students will work on aligning their body, mind and voice to shed physical habits that impede character development and strengthen their ability to command the stage.

Build your acting foundation by learning the basics!
